2023 Korean Government Scholarship Call for Applications for Master and Doctorate

Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Algeria announces the launch of the Korean government scholarship program GKS for this year. GKS program is intended for foreign students (Algerians) who wish to continue their studies (Master, Doctorate) in South Korea. 

  1. OBJECTIVE 

The objective of the scholarship program offered by the Korean government is to grant foreign students the opportunity to continue higher studies in the highest educational institutions in Korea, with the aim of improving international exchanges in education and strengthening mutual friendship between countries.

  1. TOTAL NUMBER OF CANDIDATES

- Number of scholarships managed by the Embassy of Korea: 2 places for Algerian students

- Number of scholarships managed by universities: 3 places for Algerian students

III. OTHER INFORMATIONS

  1. Available study paths

        -Detailed information on the courses offered by universities and further information are available on NIIED’s “Study In Korea” website  at www.studyinkorea.go.kr > Scholarship > GKS Notice

- Applicants must select the desired fields of study from the list of programs.

- Evening classes, seasonal programs, as well as online and distance learning programs are not included in the scholarship program.

- Please contact the desired department before applying to find out if the courses are given in English.

  1. Available Study Program:

- Master (3 years)

- Doctorate (4 years)

- Postdoctoral Research or Teacher Exchange Program (6 months, only for people invited by the university)

Ⅳ. APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. How to apply

- Applicants must apply for the Korean government scholarship program either through the Embassy in their country, or through one of the universities designated by the Korean government.

- 2 Students will be selected by the Korean Embassy in Algeria.

- Requests submitted more than once at the offices mentioned above will be automatically excluded and rejected.

- Former GKS students are eligible to apply through the Embassy or directly through the university.

  1. The deadline for applying

- March 5th, 2023 at 4 p.m

- The deposit of the files is done directly at the Embassy, ​​we do not accept DHL, Fax, e-mail deposit etc.

- Address: Consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, 5 Chemin Mackley, Ben Aknoun, Algiers

- We do not accept any applications that have passed the date and time mentioned above.

* Only admitted candidates will be communicated by phone call or e-mail from the Embassy on March 16, 2023 in the afternoon.

(Those who are not accepted for the interview will not receive any return from Korean Embassy.)

* The incomplete file will not be examined and no application file will be returned.

* Applications returned after the deadline will not be accepted.

* If you wish to submit your application via the university (which you have chosen), please send your documents directly to the university.

You may only choose the university and departments listed in the “University information” file posted with the 2022 GKS-G Application Guidelines on the Study In Korea website  www.studyinkorea.go.kr > Scholarship > GKS Notice. It is recommended to contact the universities to consult on the departments and degree programs you are interested in.
